Airfoil Designing

While going through my research plans, I figured that it would be convenient to add a section in my paper regarding design methods, since my paper is partly about the design process.
So today, I conveniently came across a digital textbook that describes the process. Here it is:

I think I am almost done with my research now, so I will be starting on an outline soon.

Awesome finding!

I found a really nice picture of different designs of airfoils. Maybe I can use a couple of these and make models of them for my presentation.

Even better, the picture even shows what the airfoils are designed specifically for. This could really help my research regarding what designs are used specifically for what. I haven't reached that step yet, but this picture gives me hope...

More Research...

I am still researching...
Today I discovered an excellent, awesome website to help me learn the basics of air lift and other physical aspects of flight.
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/space/lift-drag.html
After going through the interactive slide show, I feel a lot safer about what I have to deal with for my project. I think I will include the information I took from the slide show in my paper as sort of an introduction.
I also found another source (a power point) that may be too advanced for my level and too extensive for the purposes of my paper but gives great detail on airfoils and information about wings.

Phase 1: Research!

I've started my research on wing design!

I have looked at some websites, particularly this one:
http://www.desktop.aero/appliedaero/wingdesign/wingdesign.html
This website particularly addressed my topic, especially what the designs serve to do.

I'm still thinking about what I should do for my presentation. I was thinking of making paper airplane models with different wing designs, but as a person who still has yet to perfect the simplest folding for a paper airplane, I think that might be a bad idea. It would be a good idea if I do not fly the planes in class for the presentation, but my presentation would be completely lame.

Or I could just make models of the wings. And maybe I could design one myself and tell the class what purpose it serves.
